Urbansnake's sophomore release, 'Whiteknuckle' is packed with solid material that will shake your foundation in more ways than one. There's something both new and familiar about their sound. Their influences are definitely worn on their sleeves infused with a razor sharp modern edge. 'Whiteknuckle' is a rock solid release, full of great hooks, melodies and a monster wall of guitars. If the processed garbage you've been force-fed by corporate radio hasn't totally killed your desire to ROCK, then it's time you tried Urbansnake

This is some good modern rock. The band can write some really good catchy riffs and the singer has a good solid voice that fits what the band is doing. The songs are built around simply, but catchy and effective riffs that sucked me in and kept me in until the disc was done. Sort of like Rob Zombie meeting Alice in Chains at times. This band is heavy enough for the underground fan and has the catchy melodic side to appeal to the masses. As for me, I enjoyed this very much.

"This CD came across my desk and boy is this a fucking treat. Good solid hard rock music with a metal edge. Just a fucking fantastic wall of music with great riffs, melodies, and catchy tunes. And it definitely has that New York attitude that I love so much. Classic sounding music with a fresh edge to it. This is how rock is supposed to sound."

Urbansnake have all the energy you’d expect from a rock band out of the Bronx, but they pay a bit more attention to melodies and hooks than most, and so their punky kind of melodic metal is supremely catchy by definition. Sometimes their sinewy, emotional yet muscled rock-outs bring to mind one of the best NY bands ever, Life Of Agony, such is the melodic power Urbansnake can command at the top of their game. Try to dislodge the chorus of “Crawl Into Your Bones” out of your brain, for example, once you listen to it just once. Vocalist Vinny Corvino, an experienced guy who has fronted other local bands like Holy Motorpunk or Stabbing Negatives, is a big part of the band’s identify, his soulful and gravely voice providing the drive of the songs and a perfect complement to the rumble of the rhythm section and the guitar leads.
Already with a debut album under their belts, Urbansnake are currently preparing the release of their sophomore effort, “Whiteknuckle”, due this month. The album was recorded at Prime Time Studio and one of the catchier tracks off it, “Orphan”, will have a video for it. 2008 is looking quite busy for Urbansnake, and they have all the potential to break through to a wider audience with this forthcoming release and more gigs that will surely happen.

URBANSNAKE/Whiteknuckle (Ettno Roc Records) This was some really good modern rock n roll with a metal edge to it at times. The band write simple, but effective tunes that had my foot tapping. The vocals are sung in a Southern style way and they fit the music rather well as he has a good voice and sings with passion and feeling. The production is good and allows everything to flow freely and this was just a plain ole good rock CD.
Finally, a Hard Rock/Metal album that matters! Urbansnake has hit it right on the head with Whiteknuckle. This album screams of classic metal bands before they all sold out and started drinking Miller Light and eating sushi for breakfast. It's bands like Urbansnake and albums like Whiteknuckle that make me believe that music is not dead and that there are still bands out there doing it for the right reasons and that they're doing it loud. This one is worth twice the price. Mike UC Radio Podshow

"I think they crank. They remind me of this mix of Metallica, Motorhead, Sabbath all just kind of contained in this ball of cranking power and controlled rage."

More groove metal. This band plays music in that vein, but the band has some fantastic hooks and the vocals rule. None of this tough guy crap. The band sort of reminds me of Helmet, who I love. There are only a few tunes on here and that just wetted my appetite for more. This shit is heavy and hits hard. Excellent job by these guys. Info: http://www.urbansnake.com

TPN Rock Again #2:
Rise, by Urban Snake (www.urbansnake.com)
Rising up from The Bronx in New York, Urban Snake are a motley lot that have bounced from band to band before all falling into the same rehearsal room. Their new album is just out, and quite frankly pins your ears against the back wall… of your next door neighbours living room. And there’s a little bonus if you sign up to their email list.

Powerfull
This band deserves an A+ for this song. If the rest of their songs are of this quality I see big things happening for this band. This cd song starts out sounding a little like Black Sabbath then slips into a Metallica sorta feel with a mini slap of rap, high quality vocals, songwriting and musicianship -keep playing and don't look back!
